Networks at IAS
IAS fosters collaboration through a range of networks that connect like-minded individuals across disciplines, facilitating interdisciplinary exchange, advancing research, and supporting innovative solutions to complex global challenges. These networks play a vital role in shaping and connecting the IAS community.
Science Sisters
Science Sisters (SciSis) is a peer support network of early/ish career women working in academia, spanning all disciplines and roles. In 2025, SciSis continued to foster solidarity and collaboration through regular co-working sessions at IAS and the SciSis Meet events. 2025 featured conversations with leading women in academia, such as Prof. Ineke Sluiter, Prof. Marieke de Goede, Prof. Jo Ellis-Monaghan, and Dr. Sofieke de Jonge. By centring peer support, SciSis empowers members to navigate academic life, build networks and engage in innovative and inclusive approaches to research and collaboration.
IAS NEXT
IAS NEXT, the Institute for Advanced Study’s vibrant early-career researcher network, kicked off in September 2025 and began weekly Friday co-working sessions from November. The community fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration, skill-building, and project development through workshops, discussions, and creative initiatives. By providing guidance and resources, IAS NEXT empowers members to expand their research horizons, launch new ideas, and connect with like-minded peers.
Art and Science
At IAS, we bring together artists, scientists, and individuals interested in the intersection of art and science. Through a variety of events, inspiring talks, and collaborative projects, we explore how these fields can inform and enhance each other. Our initiatives foster creativity, innovation, and cross-disciplinary exchange, providing a platform for fresh perspectives and new ideas.
IAS Forum
The IAS Forum brings together IAS Research Leads to connect across disciplines and advance collaborative research at the Institute. In 2025, the Forum met twice, providing a space to exchange approaches to interdisciplinary collaboration, explore emerging research themes, and identify new opportunities for joint initiatives. By fostering dialogue between senior researchers at different stages of project development, the IAS Forum strengthens the IAS research community and fosters new partnerships.
