The Amsterdam Law School is one of the five faculties that formed part of the University of Amsterdam at its foundation in 1877. The faculty was originally accommodated at Oudemanhuispoort, but at the end of 2017 the faculty relocated to Building REC A at Roeterseiland, situated on and close to Roeterstraat in the centre of Amsterdam. Roeterseiland Campus is home to the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences and the Faculty of Law.

Bicycle parking facilities

There are very spacious bicycle parking facilities in the basement of REC A. You can park your bicycle in a secure section of the basement which is accessible only with a staff ID card. There is also parking space for motor scooters, motorbikes and freight bicycles.

In REC A you’ll find a 30-metre high art work, ‘Recht & Onrecht’ (‘Justice and Injustice’) by Barbara Broekman. Here she shows the development of the justice system using a thousand years of Western art!
